Perea Cuts Ribbon at Senior Center

Fresno, CA (March 3, 2006) On Friday, March 3rd, Councilmember Henry T. Perea cut the ribbon at the new location for the Manchester Center Senior Center. The ceremony began at 9:00AM to announce the opening of the permanent location on the second floor of Manchester Center.
Speaking at the ceremony were County Supervisor Henry R. Perea, who helped open the center, and Councilmember Henry T. Perea, who helped secure the new location. Representatives from Fresno Unified School District, Fresno Adult School, Table Mountain, and Manchester Center were also in attendance.
The Manchester Senior Center was originally opened in February of 1999 during the remodel of the Manchester Shopping Center into a multi use business and retail complex. Since then it has provided a social, educational, and service center for Fresno seniors. Councilmember Perea has been a long time supporter of the center and is excited to see it find a permanent home in Manchester Center.
