Disabled Accessibility Grant Program
The City of Fresno’s Disabled Accessibility Grant Program provides grants to low-income seniors or individuals with physical disabilities to make accessibility improvements to their homes.  Funds for the grant program are made available through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program.  Grant amounts vary from $4,000 to $10,000.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • APPLICANTS
At least one of the homeowners must be 62 years of age or older.

OR

At least one of the homeowners (or their child) must be physically disabled.
  • INCOME

Family income must be at or below 80% of area median income, as established by HUD.  See chart below.

3 PEOPLE - $3,229
4 PEOPLE - $3,587
5 PEOPLE - $3,875
6 PEOPLE - $4,162

Have an after-rehabilitation value less than FHA 203 (b) mortgage limits

    Base cabinets with pull out shelves
    Base cabinets with Lazy Susans

HOW TO APPLY

  • Contact the Housing and Community Development Division staff at (559) 621-8300 and request that your name be placed on the waiting list. Upon being selected, you will be invited to submit an application and supporting documentation. Once your application information is determined to meet eligibility criteria, you will be contacted with further instructions on how to proceed.
