Mayor, City of Fresno - Alan Autry
Creating a Better Place to Live
Quick Facts: City In Progress
CREATING A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE
It is clear the City of Fresno wants a fresh approach to how we do business in city hall.
It is apparent that the city wants leadership and direction, not politics. Leadership requires the courage to make decisions that will benefit the next generation. I promise that kind of leadership.
I am convinced that your Mayor must take the leadership role in education too. It is not enough to simply offer support -- the mayor must take action. You don’t need a city charter to know that education is the foundation of any community. We need innovation in education and dedication to the task before us. Leadership demands that we make tough choices. Your mayor, more than anyone, is the person responsible for forging the absolutely essential connection between our city and our children’s future.
Your Mayor must seek new ways to bring jobs and industry to our community. I’ll work overtime to open the doors of opportunity to industry and commerce.
We have a safer city than ten years ago. I’ll continue to work to ensure that safety and I am honored to have earned the endorsement of the men and women who provide public safety in our city.
We must do more to protect our neighborhoods and give integrity to our community plans. We must be cautious and prudent to ensure that the types of activities that disgraced our community do not occur again.
Fresno is an All America city and deserves real, honest, strong leadership and I pledge to the people of Fresno to be that kind of leader.
I believe the future holds both promise and unprecedented opportunity for our city as we enter the Twenty-First Century.
We have an opportunity to become not only a great city but also a truly special city. A community that can be the envy of not only the Valley and State but also the entire Country.
