Georgeanne White, Chief of Staff

As Chief of Staff, Ms. White plans, organizes and oversees the day to day activities of the Mayor’s Office, including scheduling, special projects, intergovernmental and legislative affairs.

The Chief of Staff serves as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Mayor and works closely with the City Manager and Department Heads in the development and implementation of City policy.  Ms. White is married to William M. White. They have twin daughters, Katie and Gracie.


Kelli Furtado, Deputy Chief of Staff

Deputy Chief of Staff Kelli Furtado coordinates the daily administrative duties of the Mayor’s office including correspondence, project tracking, meeting support and other duties. The Deputy Chief of Staff also provides direct support to the Mayor for the preparation of presentations, speeches and reports. Additionally, she acts as liaison for the Mayor to various boards, commissions, task forces and committees.

Ms. Furtado brings a diversity of professional experience to her position including previous work in financial management, budget forecasting, human resources, and other administrative and operational roles.


Cheryl Burns, Special Assistant

Cheryl Burns joined the City of Fresno in 2002. As Special Assistant to the Mayor, she oversees scheduling and travel logistics, constituent services and a variety of administrative projects. Ms. Burns earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from California State University, Fresno and is currently pursuing a master’s in public administration.






Katie Stevens, Governmental Affairs Manager

As Government Affairs Manager, Katie Stevens facilitates and maintains the City's intergovernmental relationships with local, state and federal agencies as well as legislative offices. She advocates for the City's legislative priorities in cooperation with its contracted advocates in Sacramento and Washington, D.C. Ms. Stevens provides analysis, technical assistance, and recommendations regarding legislative issues, intergovernmental activities, grant opportunities and other matters to Mayor Swearengin, City Council members, and the City's senior management team.



Priscilla Pereschica, Administrative Assistant

As administrative assistant, Priscilla Pereschica performs daily administrative duties and projects, assists with constituent correspondence, provides staff support and coordinates the Mayor's Open Door Day meetings. Prior to joining the Mayor's staff, Ms. Pereschica interned in the Mayor's Office during the 2009 spring semester. She recently graduated from California State University, Fresno where she earned her bachelor's degree in political science and a minor in economics.
